Gastronomic trends, food quality and sustainability. The Danubius Gastro fair will highlight hot topics of today

 Gastronomic novelties, food, wine and coffee from the whole world, local and exotic products, fantastic cooking shows with popular chefs as well as technologies and equipment for gastronomic facilities, hotels, cafes and restaurants – the international fair of gastronomy Danubius Gastro taking place in Incheba Bratislava from 23rd to 26th January 2020 will be full of delicious aroma, flavours and colours, addressing both professionals from the HoReCa segment and good food lovers alike. During four days of its course the event will present almost 400 exhibitors from ten countries including Slovakia and Czech Republic. One of the hot topics of this edition will be food quality and gastronomic sustainability, an issue that will be passionately presented in a very catchy exhibition stand of the main partner of the fair – the Kaufland Slovakia. 

 Technologies for gastro business…

 Complete range of goods for the HoReCa segment from professional appliances to furniture and packaging materials and promotion – during its existence, the Danubius Gastro fair has become a decisive event in its segment in Slovakia and near countries; it is an important platform for presentation of trends and novelties in the gastronomic department, and much more; it is also a place where professionals meet consumers and get educated on new products and specialties. The fair thus represents both small and local companies, entrepreneurs and freelancers as well as important world gastronomic brands like De´Longhi, METRO, Bonduelle and many others represented by Slovak sales representatives. After longer pause, the company Nestlé will participate in the fair with an outstandingly attractive exhibition stand (through the NESTLÉ Slovakia Ltd.).   

 …and colourful programme that smells and tastes like heaven  

 The Live Cooking School will be a true culinary experience, showing visitors world tips and tricks and new trends; the fair will also feature renowned competition of cooks, confectioners, bartenders and baristas – whether professionals or students. The art of fruit and vegetable carving will be demonstrated by the CARVING CUP SLOVAKIA, chefs will compete in competitions like SKILLS Slovakia Gastro junior METRO CUP and MASTER CHEF SR 2019/2020, confectioners will show their skills during DANUBIUS GASTRO DEBIC CUP 2020 and the already 10th edition of the competition exhibition POETRY IN GASTRONOMY will show exhibits of chefs, confectioners and confectionery artists. Lucia Gažová, the confectioner from Lulus Bakery, will share some practical advice for decorating cookies during her workshop on Saturday 25th January.

Molecular gastronomy, modern Slovak street food and world drinks

 Lots of chefs and confectioners from reputable companies will come to the Danubius Gastro fair to show their skills. Let’s just name some of them – Vojto Artz – the president of Slovak Association of Chefs and Confectioners and Metro chef – will show all visitors the secrets of molecular gastronomy; the executive chef of companies Hotel Loft and FABRIKA The beer pub Dano Hrivňák will present concept of modern Slovak street food; and the confectioner of the Zámok Šimák hotel, Tomáš Pikáli will show seasonal recipes from the castle. The fair will also feature modern mixology performed by the best baristas from various countries competing in the MASTER CUP 77 2020 PROFI MIXOLOGY.

Everything about coffee in the Coffee Town

 The Danubius Gastro fair has prepared a competition in preparation of popular coffee drinks as well as mixed drinks or alternative coffee preparations called SLOVAK BARISTA CUP. How to make a perfect espresso? How should a real cappuccino look like? What recipes are used for various alternative coffee preparations like Chemex, Aeropres, Cezve/Ibrik coffee or V60? All questions will be answered by professionals in the Coffee Town. Visitors can also taste high quality responsible coffee from the whole world. All those interested in opening their own café can take advice and practical tips from professionals.

 How to tell a difference between fish from a pond and one from a swimming pool? How does an honest bakery work? How should cattle be really raised? Food quality, ecology and sustainability will be hot topics of the gastronomy fair. Lectures and discussions with Slovak growers, producers and breeders on history and origin of raw materials will take place every day from Thursday till Sunday. Moreover, Kaufland Slovakia as the main partner of the gastronomy fair wants to present responsible range of goods, aim at domestic production support, present organic cotton fabrics and educate visitors on its gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan products. Visitors can also look forward to daily competitions, tastings and lots of fun!

The Danubius Gastro fair that takes place together with the travel fair ITF Slovakiatour and the exhibitions dedicated to hunting and fishing is open from 23rd to 26th January 2020, on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 till 18:00, on Saturday from 10:00 till 18:00 and on Sunday from 10:00 till 17:00.
